What’s Hiding In Your Hotel Room?
Try a quick Trip Advisor search for “urine” and see the scarily long list of hotels and motels with, now, very public, urine problems.
However efficient the cleaning regime of most hotels there is one area of hotel cleaning that is often badly overlooked – the detection and removal of urine odors and stains.
These odors and stains are not only unhygienic, but a huge turn-off for guests and staff alike leading to guest complaints, bad reviews and bad reputations.
Worse, they have the potential to ruin your vacation!
One Trip Advisor review (of the approximately 10,000!) – “Urine smells abound” wrote:
“The smell of urine as walking up the steps should have been a clue as to what was in store. As I arrived at the second floor the smell got even worse and urine trails could be seen on the walkway floor. …The sheets on the beds had stains on them and when I turned on the A/C unit it blew in the smell of urine so bad that I had to spray cologne on the vents to overcome it, it appeared that it was common practice for some to urinate on the outside A/C units…”
Would you want to stay there?
Hotels are typically dusted, vacuumed and disinfected after every stay but deep cleaned, on average, only three to four times a year. As a result, because urine is often invisible to the naked eye, the urine problem remains unnoticed or unresolved by hotel cleaners.
Most proprietary brands of cleaning product contain only a surface cleaning agent. These products temporarily mask the urine smell but do not completely remove the source of the smell.
All urine consists of urea, urochrome and uric acid crystals. General cleaners can remove the water soluble components of urine (urea and urochrome) but will leave behind the non-soluble uric acid crystals -which cause the urine smell.
But now hotel managers have no excuse to let this sorry state of affairs continue as bio-technology offers a fast, practical and environmentally friendly solution to address the problem of urine odors and stains for good!
The solution comes in the form of new high quality bio-enzymatic products that tackle the source of the urine odors and stains. Coupled with blacklight technology, that fluoresces dried urine in a darkened room, it is now easy to identify and treat the right area and remove the source of the urine stain and odors.
Bio-enzymatic products contain carefully selected enzymes and bacteria that just love eating the uric acid crystals in addition to removing the urea and urochrome components of urine. In fact urine crystals are their favourite food!
Furthermore, they are safe to use around humans and pets, are bio-degradable and will do no more damage to precious fabrics than water, when used in accordance with directions.
Perhaps hotel management just needs a helping hand?
So next time you stay at a hotel make sure you let the hotel manager know if there is a urine problem in their hotel and direct them to a recognized bio-enzymatic urine cleaning product.
