Penny auctions are gaining in popularity every day. They are likely to become even better known as people start seeing the television commercials run by large websites like Quibids or Beezid. Penny auctions are not like traditional auctions, however. You must pay a price for each bid, regardless of whether you win or lose, so you are always at risk of losing money. Because of this, before you head to sites like Quibids or Beezid it is important that you have a strategy.

Many of these sites charge your card upfront when you join, so do not join an auction site until you have already researched its reputation. Take special note if you discover complaints about the refund policies, customer service, or other service issues of a specific company. There are lots of accusations out there about these types of sites using bid scripts to inflate auction prices, but these claims have not been proven. If numerous reviewers have negative reports of dealing directly with the company, however, that is a sign you should probably do business with someone else.

Unlike traditional auction sites like eBay, sites like Quibids and Beezid do not have set end times for their auctions. Instead, the clock is extended by ten extra seconds whenever another bid is placed. Many times this results in auctions that go on for incredibly long stretches of time. If you do not have a strong internet connection then these auctions may not be for you. Even the smallest break in service could cause you to lose an auction, along with all your money, as many frustrated customers have noticed.

As referenced earlier, it is important to know that placing bids in penny auctions costs money. Often, the price of these bids will fall anywhere from fifty cents to a dollar, with the average being sixty cents. While charging more than sixty cents is not unheard of, you should still try to determine if there is a reason why. For the extra money you will be paying, what sort of benefits will you receive? If that site does not have benefits over other sites that justify their higher charges, then you should look elsewhere.

When considering a site, check to make sure it has a Buy It Now feature. This feature allows you to place the cost you spent on bids toward the retail cost of an item, if you lose an auction. When it comes to penny auction sites, this is really the only smart way to bid. When entering an auction, considering whether you would actually buy that item at full price. This way, you will not have lost money if you end up not winning the auction.

Since you must pay for your chance to win the auction, penny auctions are often compared to gambling. This format is a lot riskier than the traditional format, and this appeals to some people but not to others. Either way, before you invest your time and money you should know which auction format works best for you. Some observation may show you that the regular auction format is better for you. Or maybe you are willing to simply wait until items go on a sale at a regular retailer. Whatever you realize, it will benefit you greatly to know these things before you invest your money in a penny auction site.

Each day, penny auctions seem to gain more widespread recognition. Now that many of the largest sites like Quibids and Beezid are advertising on television, penny auctions are sure to become even more main stream. Penny auctions are not like traditional auctions, however. The bids you place in these auctions cost money, so unfortunately losing an auction means not only losing the prize, but your money as well. Because of this, do not simply ignore the various Quibids or Beezid reviews you see online, but check them out for tips and tricks.

Never hand over your credit or debit card number to a website unless you have already read the reviews of that particular site. Pay close attention to reports of bad customer service, problems with refunds, or damaged or delayed product deliveries. You are likely to see many complaints of these sites have questionable methods toward raising the price of auctions, but usually these claims are unsubstantiated. If numerous reviewers have negative reports of dealing directly with the company, however, that is a sign you should probably do business with someone else.

As mentioned before, each bid you place in a penny auction will cost you money. The bids are generally less than a dollar, with the most popular cost per bid usually being right around sixty cents. If the site you are considering charges more than sixty cents per bid, try to see if there is a reason why. For the extra money you will be paying, what sort of benefits will you receive? If that site does not have benefits over other sites that justify their higher charges, then you should look elsewhere.

When considering a site, check to make sure it has a Buy It Now feature. If you lose, this feature will allow you to take the cost of your bids and place it toward purchasing that item at full retail price. This feature benefits you, the user, so make sure you have access to it. Make sure you are bidding on an item that you feel comfortable paying full price for. This way, you will not have lost money if you end up not winning the auction.

Unlike traditional auction sites like eBay, sites like Quibids and Beezid do not have set end times for their auctions. Instead, every time a bid is placed, the clock is extended by ten seconds. Auctions that can last for unbelievably long periods of time are often the result. These types of marathon auctions are not appropriate for people with questionable internet connections. You may not realize it, but even a tiny blip in service could make the difference in losing an auction, and along with it, all your time and money.

These auction sites are regularly compared to gambling sites, because you must pay for a chance to win. Some people prefer the standard auction format to this riskier penny auction format. Before you invest your time and money, you owe it to yourself to do a little investigating to see if this format is for you. Some observation may show you that the regular auction format is better for you. Or you may realize you do not even like auctions, you would rather simply purchase your items like normal. Knowing where you are most comfortable before you invest in a penny auction website only works to your advantage.

Penny auctions are gaining in popularity every day. Since some of the large sites like Beezid or Quibids have started running commercials, they are guaranteed to become even better known. There are differences between penny auctions and traditional auctions that everyone should be aware of, however. You must pay a price for each bid, regardless of whether you win or lose, so you are always at risk of losing money. Due to this possibility, you should check out all claims of a Beezid, Quibids, or Grab Swag scam before you try it for yourself.

Never hand over your credit or debit card number to a website unless you have already read the reviews of that particular site. Pay close attention to reports of bad customer service, problems with refunds, or damaged or delayed product deliveries. You will come across a wide variety of reports that accuse these sites of shady, unethical behavior, but often these accusations have not been proven. However, frequent reports of customers having bad personal experiences with a particular website or company should probably point you in another direction.

When considering a site, check to make sure it has a Buy It Now feature. This feature acts as a safeguard for when you lose an auction, allowing you to put the money you spent on bids toward the retail cost of the item. When it comes to penny auction sites, this is really the only smart way to bid. Before placing that first bid, decide whether you want that item enough to pay full price. This will keep your losses done, because you will not have lost all your bid money along with the auction itself.

Unlike traditional auction sites like eBay, sites like Quibids and Grab Swag do not have set end times for their auctions. Each time someone places a bid, the clock resets itself with another ten seconds of time. This means that the auctions can last for extremely long periods of time. This means these auctions are only appropriate for those with strong internet connections. Many users complain of the smallest blip in their service resulting in an auction loss, which also means loss of money and often a lot of time.

Bidding in penny auctions, unlike standard auctions, is not free, as mentioned before. The average cost of these bids is around sixty cents, but they can cost as much as a dollar or as little as fifty cents. While most sites do not explain why they charge the price per bid that they do, if the site you are considering charges more than sixty cents per bid, you should try to find out why. For the extra money you will be paying, what sort of benefits will you receive? If you cannot locate what benefits you get for the higher prices, you should probably switch to a different site.

As paying for the chance to win a prize is usually what takes place in casinos, some people think these sites are more like gambling than regular auctions. This gambling style format works for some people, while others cannot stand it. You will not know if this auction format works for you until you do some research and observation for yourself. Some observation may show you that the regular auction format is better for you. Maybe auctions are not for you at all, and you would just prefer to buy items on sale at the retailer. Either way, it is probably better to figure out the answers to these questions before you spend your money on a penny auction.

Each day, penny auctions seem to gain more widespread recognition. They are likely to become even better known as people start seeing the television commercials run by large websites like Quibids or Beezid. Though, you should know that penny auctions are not the same as standard auctions. The bids you place in these auctions cost money, so unfortunately losing an auction means not only losing the prize, but your money as well. Due to this, having a strategy before you ever head to sites like Quibids, Beezid, or DealFun is a necessity.

As referenced earlier, it is important to know that placing bids in penny auctions costs money. Frequently these bids will cost you around sixty cents, but they can be higher or lower depending on the site. While most sites do not explain why they charge the price per bid that they do, if the site you are considering charges more than sixty cents per bid, you should try to find out why. Do you receive more benefits for the extra money you will be paying? If you cannot find out how you benefit, then perhaps look at sites that charge cheaper prices.

When considering a site, check to make sure it has a Buy It Now feature. After you have lost an auction, this feature allows you to take the money you spent on bids and use toward purchasing the item at full price. This is really the only smart way to bid on a penny auction site. When entering an auction, considering whether you would actually buy that item at full price. This way, you will not have lost money if you end up not winning the auction.

Sites like Quibids and DealFun, unlike classic auction websites like eBay, do not have preset end times for their auctions. Instead, every time a bid is placed, the clock is extended by ten seconds. Auctions that can last for unbelievably long periods of time are often the result. If you do not have a strong internet connection then these auctions may not be for you. Even the smallest break in service could cause you to lose an auction, along with all your money, as many frustrated customers have noticed.

Never hand over your credit or debit card number to a website unless you have already read the reviews of that particular site. You should look for complaints concerning bad customer service, damaged products, or other concrete difficulties. Many people in the past have made accusations against these websites having employees bid to increase the auction prices, but this has never been confirmed. But numerous complaints about issues with their products or services show an actual problem, and indicate that perhaps you should go elsewhere.

Since you must pay for your chance to win the auction, penny auctions are often compared to gambling. Some people hate this auction format, while others actually like it. Regardless, you owe it to yourself to do some research and observation before you invest your time and money into it. You may find that a standard auction format fits you best. Or you may realize you do not even like auctions, you would rather simply purchase your items like normal. Remember that you are the person who benefits from having this knowledge before you begin investing in penny auction sites.

Have you been looking to find a certain car for a long period of time? Trying to come across the one you have got your heart set on is not the easiest thing you have ever done, am I correct? Well, that was how it once was for Individuals such as us before the internet, but Gratefully by leveraging the truly amazing potential we have online, you can find just about any means of transport you are searching out.

Did you ever dream of getting a gorgeous automotive on the cybernet? The costs ranges are often a lot cheaper than you would be expecting to pay at a traditional dealership or through an ad in the paper. In this article, you will see a number of avenues to consider when browsing on the net to buy your ideal car for a good deal.

To start with, lets talk about eBay.com. In case you have been in the dark for the 15 years, most likely you have heard of it. Well, you may or may not have realized this but eBay truly has a detailed site for people trying to buy featured stylish cars. It is called eBay Motors. It is an full eBay site dedicated to the purchasing and advertising of vehicles, and it is a great place to discover your next vintage automobile to add to your collection!

The highest bidder gets it, and actually, the bargains are regularly really low-priced in comparison to additional online options. There can be a small amount of competition when bidding on hard to find cars sometimes, but the average back up type cars are all over the place and if you are willing to go to pick them up, its a wonderful idea.

Moreover, I need to talk to you about an additional huge internet site you will probably have been made aware of called Craigslist.com. The best thing about paying for used cars on Craigslist, is that there is no auction format like on eBay and additional online listings. Since it is basically a first in line style classified ad site you can be the first to get your hands on a automobile you want to grab, and potentially you could be traveling in your brand new vehicle as soon as the same day you discover it!

One awesome point about Craigslist is that you can hunt for used cars that are regional to your town. That is one thing you can not do with eBay. worst of all, on eBay, you are going to have to journey a long way to get your timeless car. Even so, on Craigslist, you can choose to only search for local listings, which makes it faster because after you acquire it, there is no additional cost needed with shipping or pickup.

One final alternative to take into account when getting used cars online is to look into some county auctions. These types of websites give you little known data about cars that have been repossessed because the initial buyer did not make their payments on time. If you have secret knowledge on these online used car buying auctions that are held privatley, you can get some massive discount rates, so do not discount it. It is vital to take every choice into account to give yourself the best chance you possibly can to discover the car of your dreams.

If the described above solutions disappoint, you can always do a good old fashion Google search for the make and model number of the distinct classic car you are serious in purchasing. If you are not successful there, a good idea would be to bookmark the eBay Motors page, as well as your local Craigslist classified ads page so that you can check back periodically to see what automobiles have been added to those sites.

The early bird truly does get the worm in this situation. Being the first one to the auction, (or classified site) gives you a great chance at making an offer on the car you are trying to get before others come along and get it before you get the chance.

If you shop for a used classic car on the net you are likely going to preserve a lot of bucks. . Actually, it is highly recommended that you use online marketplaces as a go to resource instead of a last working proposition to locate the car you are shopping for. The next time you are looking for a precise make and model, do not immediately run out to the dealership.

Buy used classic cars is a great resource for classic car collectors to use when searching for their next collectors item. You can visit their site by clicking this link: Buy used classic cars

EBay, the world’s #1 online auction site has provided a part-time or fulltime source of income for many households all over the world. The process of selling items to anybody in part of the world has made this a huge phenomenon. Many have found a way to sell off their unwanted items and make some money out of it and many others may have found a way to buy items for low and sell high on EBay. Before EBay, lot of these unwanted items would end up as donations to Goodwill stores or trash if they do not sell on yard sales! Now, they have a way of making some money out it.

Some of them have teamed up with wholesalers and drop shippers to create a regular income and sell same or similar items like computer, electronics or furniture etc. over and over again. So, how do you maximize your income on EBay? Short answer would be BACKEND SALES! Did you notice that when you buy a burger at Burger King, McDonald or any other fast food joint, you always hear “Would you like some fries with it?” Have you noticed that at the check out counter of your local grocery store chain, they stack up gossip magazines, TV guides, Gums, Snickers etc.? These are low priced items that sell quickly when people have to stand in long lines.

Here are five unique ideas to maximize your income:

1. Whenever you sell an item, you get the email of the customer. Create a database of these customer contacts and send an email stating that you will be sending occasional information about great deals similar products in the future. It is best to use an auto responder. There are many free sources of auto responders or you can subscribe to a paid one. Whenever you list an item on EBay for sale, send an email to this list. Remember to add this line after your signature – “PS: Please forward this email anyone you know who might be interested”. Since you have a good reputation of being a very courteous and trustworthy seller, they will forward your email to their friends and relatives.

2. When you ship your item, always include a list of other similar items that you have for sale. This can get them interested in more items or they may mention it others.

3. If your product is an item that will be needed by the customer again and again (for example shipping package material), then it is good idea to contact them after a few months because the shipping material that you sent earlier would have been consumed by them and they may be looking to buy more. Offer some discounts on subsequent sales or offer free shipping. This will motivate them to buy more from you.

4. Here is a great idea that is used very effectively by many online business owners. These business owners use EBay to get a sales lead only. That’s all! For example a computer parts seller may sell over 100 memory stick for only $3.99 on EBay. All this person is trying to do is get a sales lead. Once the sale is made, they will send an email to mention about their website for future sales. Create a website for your products with a shopping cart. After you sell an item on EBay, send your buyer to your website. Buying directly from your website is profitable to you because you do not have to pay EBay fees. You can encourage the buyer to go your website by giving discount coupon and it will still work best for you because you are not paying any EBay fees.

5. Here’s another great idea for backend sales on EBay. You can sell related digital information products (eBook) along with the main item. An eBook works best here because you can offer it for cheap as there is no extra cost for additional sales and also the buyer has the satisfaction of downloading it immediately after payment is made. You can create your own eBook or buy resell rights to one or sell an affiliate product. You cannot list any other product or link on your EBay auction listing but you can in your “About Me” page.

All members get to create “About Me” page. Once you create this page, a “me” icon will appear next to your username. In your “About Me” page, you can create links to your information product. Put the link to your “About Me” page in your auction listing. For example, you are selling golf items on EBay. You can create an eBook (or eBook with resell rights or affiliate eBook) about the improving your golf cut that can be sold for $7.95. In the auction ad, create a link to your “About Me” page where there is an ad for this eBook. The link to your “About me” page can read something like – “Want to improve your golf? Click here for some great tips!” This will lead the auction visitor to the “About Me” page and then to your eBook. The pricing of such digital product is very important! These are not the main item so the cost should be from $5 – 15. Remember “Would you like some fries with this?” Fries cost around $0.70 and that is why they sell quickly. Such backend sales are possible even if the visitor does not buy your main product on EBay and also you will not be paying EBay fees for the sale of the eBook!

This article provides some possible ways to increase your income on EBay. Keeping in contact with your customer is very important. People buy on EBay because of the credibility. There are thousands of new products and services website built everyday but people buy these products only from well established online stores like Amazon, Dell, and HP websites because they feel more comfortable. If not, they will buy from EBay because they get a chance to leave feedback on the seller. This is reason why new online business owners must open a business on EBay so they can also gain credibility from potential shoppers and encourage them to buy from their product website.

Selling a car on eBay is different in many ways to selling regular items there because of the amount of money and the paperwork involved. Sellers and buyers all want to feel safe making transactions on eBay, and with an item as large and expensive as a car, there are extra steps that you need to take in order to make people comfortable with doing business with you.

Before you list your car for sale, you’ll want to take as many pictures as you think would be necessary to show what the car looks like including different angles from the exterior and the interior of the vehicle. Does your car have any scratches or stains? If someone buys your car and finds it different from the listing, then you are going to have a tough time sorting it out with the buyer. In addition to this, your eBay account could be negatively affected through negative feedback or even a suspension of selling privileges depending on the seriousness of the situation.

When listing your car for sale, every detail counts. If the car doesn’t come exactly as the buyer sees in it your listing, then they will feel like they’ve been cheated. If your car has any parts missing, it would be wise to make a note of it in your listing. Mileage is also an important statistic to note on your listing. If you plan on using the car while people are still bidding, make a note of that too, otherwise the actual mileage when a buyer is chosen will be greater than the mileage mentioned in the listing. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but if the buyer finds it to be a big deal, then you might lose the sale.

It doesn’t matter what you set your starting bid to. What really matters is how much you’re willing to get to part with the car. This is why you need to be careful when creating your listing. Don’t make the mistake of setting a low starting bid without also setting a reserve price. If your reserve price isn’t met, then the listing will end without a winning bid. Otherwise, if you don’t set a reserve price, your car could potentially be sold for much less than you had intended.

Make your terms clear in your auction about payment and pick-up. Obviously, a car is a huge investment and not everyone has a few thousand or more dollars lying around. Give the buyer a reasonable timeframe in which to either submit a deposit or to submit payment. You should specify whether the buyer is expected to come in person to pick up the car, or if the car is to be shipped somewhere. If the car is to be shipped, you’ll also need to specify who is responsible in paying the shipping fees.

Honesty and integrity are important when trying to sell a car on eBay. Potential buyers will ask a lot of questions because, like I said, a car is a large investment and potential buyers want to know what they are bidding on.

We’ve all heard of the bait and switch strategy. Marketers “bait” a consumer by offering some unbelievably good deal. When the consumer enters the store to take advantage of this great deal, the salesman will redirect the buyer to a different product (the switch) to try and get the consumer to spend more money.

Since the advertised deal (the bait) would often result in a store losing money, some retailers have been known to go so far as to not carry any of the advertised item in stock to prevent losing money from the sales of it. The store made money by enticing the consumer into the store with a non-existent product and selling them some other, generally highly profitable, item instead.

This is NOT what I mean by “bait and hook.” I consider bait and switch to be unethical, and I don’t subscribe to such practices. However, the “bait” in bait and hook retains the same idea in essence, and can be used as an advanced marketing tactic to help you make money on eBay.

Your bait is still going to be a great deal on some (preferably very popular) product. Create a lot of focus on this product to build attention to it. This entails using several listing upgrades, in particular the Featured Plus! and possibly even Home Page Featured listing options.

Draw as much attention to this one listing as you can. Then use every cross-promotion technique you can to entice buyers to take a look at all your other listings.

This is a bit of an old school technique that early eBay sellers used with great effectiveness. Despite its age, it still has great potential to draw buyers in to listings of yours that they might not otherwise ever see.

Normally I recommend using your hottest item as your bait. Price it reasonably low, or if you’re running a regular auction perhaps start the bidding out at $0.01 if you feel it’s popular enough to generate a lot of bids, to attract even more buyers.

Keep in mind that this is an advanced marketing technique that can result in the loss of your investment. It’s best saved for when you have a lot of experience selling on eBay as well as some experience testing past campaigns and interpreting test results.

However, when you feel ready to try something like this, don’t let fear hold you back. Running a successful business requires that you lose money every once in awhile. A good businessperson understands that business is a risk, but that properly managed, is well worth the risk. Do it right, and you’ll find “bait and hook” an effective tool for making money on eBay.

Back in the 1990′s, a man by the name of Pierre Omidyar, who had a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, received a complaint from his then girlfriend (now wife) — a collector of Pez dispensers — that there wasn’t any easy way for her to connect with other collectors for trading.

Pierre, in his efforts to sooth his girlfriend’s suffering, built the precursor to what would become the world’s largest online auction.

Or, at least, that’s the corporate line the marketing boys came up with. It does make for a great story, and chances are there is a lot of truth to it, although certainly with a marketing twist. However, why Pierre started the online auction revolution isn’t important. What’s important is that it changed the World Wide Web, and the world, forever.

In 1995 Pierre wrote auction software, which he called AuctionWeb, and put it up on the web. He listed a broken laser pointer as a test of his newly formed program. Astonishingly, the laser pointer sold for nearly $15.

Initially, sellers were allowed to list items for free. But when supporting AuctionWeb’s users became too overwhelming, Pierre decided to start charging 10 cents to list an item in the hopes it would thin out the herd. In fact, it did nothing to reduce the number of sellers. Instead, listings continued to grow. Rumor has it that some sellers would snail mail Pierre a dime taped to a postcard in order to pay for their listing.

Eventually the time to get some serious brains behind the brawn came. Jeff Skoll, a Stanford MBA, was brought on board in 1996.

Jim “Griff” Griffith, a struggling artist and regular helper at the user-supported AuctionWeb, received a call from Pierre and Jeff with an offer to become eBay’s first customer support employee. That call, Jim would later recall, probably saved his life as he was in the midst of contemplating suicide when his phone rang.

AuctionWeb would later become eBay (which some say is a reference to Echo Bay, the name of Pierre’s consulting firm at the time) and Harvard MBA and former Hasbro executive Meg Whitman would soon join the rapidly growing ship. Under Meg Whitman’s leadership, eBay’s growth was exponential. Early employees, thanks to stock options, became millionaires while executives became billionaires.

Stuart Lisonbee, who worked at eBay during 2001 and later became a PowerSeller and author of an eBay eBook, has often expressed amazement at learning that millionaires worked alongside him in entry-level positions.

Employees weren’t the only ones to strike it rich. The online auction giant became the platform that would support thousands of entrepreneurs who would make a full-time income, some of them hauling in six figures per month.

Although imitators have come and gone, eBay has remained through it all. Still the largest online auction website today, it continues to support thousands of sellers who make money on eBay as their sole occupation.

To attain PowerSeller status and become one of the elite big money makers on eBay, you must first have the appropriate attributes to attain that level.

Becoming a successful online auctioneer requires much, much more than a simple source for cheap products that have a high profit margin. Anybody can find stuff to sell and list it on eBay. But running a business requires a level of dedication that few people have… which is exactly why there are far more workers in this world than entrepreneurs, and far more buyers on eBay than sellers.

Review the PowerSeller attributes below, and be sure that you have them all. If there’s something you’re missing, then a simple change of attitude is often all that is required in order to obtain it.

Understand That You’re Running a Business
Running an online auction business differs little from running any other kind of business. As the owner and president of your very own company, you need to think like a CEO. The decisions you make as the president of your company will directly affect your success.

Dedication
Unlike gambling in Las Vegas, there is very little luck involved in the success or failure of a business. A successful company succeeds because of the dedication of its founder and employees. You must be passionate about your business and have the discipline to do what it takes.

Desire
When I was in Marine Corps basic training, I watched as several recruits simply gave up and quit. Somewhere along the line they decided that the effort wasn’t worth the reward. What separated the quitters from those that made it through to the end? Very simply, desire!

Those that made it to the end preferred to be Marines, and have the prestige and respect that comes with being a Marine. I actually met a man who broke both his legs during boot camp and spent several months in medical rehabilitation. The Marines offered to send him home several times, but he always refused. He eventually healed and returned to training.

What is your desire level? Are you ready and willing to deal with the tough times that come with running your own company so you can eventually quit your job, or do you just want to keep grinding it out making money for your boss?

Are you going to quit when things are tougher than expected, or will you do whatever it takes to earn the prestige of being an eBay PowerSeller?

Becoming Successful is a Learned Process
Chances are you’re going to fall down a lot. Reaching success means that every time you do fall down, you get back up. But before you start charging ahead, you take the time to dust yourself off and analyze why you fell down to begin with.

Falling down is not failure. Failure is not getting back up. Falling down is simply an opportunity for you to learn how to not fall down again. Do that, and you soon be well on your way to making the big money on eBay and join an elite group of eBay success stories.
