Earlier, if you wanted to subscribe to a magazine, the only way was to go and purchase one, fill out the subscription slip which was attached inside and post it along with your check. The magazine would then start arriving at your residence from the next month of circulation. Many times, the check would get misplaced and the entire procedure would have to be repeated.

But now, all you have to do is log on to the Internet, go to the site of your favorite magazine and start reading or downloading after giving your credit card number. The subscription charges are automatically deducted from your balance. No check to be posted and no waiting for the magazine to arrive by mail.

Many magazines are also available for free on the Internet. A quick search on Google will provide you with a number of sites where you can read or download magazines for free. An online magazine not only provides you more information on any topic you like, but also provides you new information on any subject you might want to learn about, and that too, in minutes. So, for example, if you would like to import a product and you want to know the product’s availability in China or Germany, with just a few clicks you can have all the information at your fingertips. This can be really helpful in your business.

For your leisure, too, online magazines can be very helpful. For example, you can learn a lot about maintaining your health and also about various diseases and their cures over the Internet. However, it is best to use this information as a base and not depend on it completely. Thanks to the Internet, you can read all types of magazines available throughout the world, unlike traditional stores where you may find only local magazines.

Online books and magazines are getting popular by the day because you can download and read the magazines at your convenience. There are many practical advantages to reading magazines online. First of all, you save a lot of space, since you no longer need space to store your magazines. All the magazines can be stored in the hard disk of your computer. Secondly, you do not have to worry about disposing off old magazines, just press ‘delete’. You also save trees from getting chopped down to make your favorite magazine, and you need have no worries about the old magazines getting infested with bugs either. The only fun you may miss out is that you cannot curl up in bed with your laptop or desktop. But that invention, too, might not be too far off.

So, go ahead, surf the net. There are many sites which offer free magazines and many other sites which can provide you monthly e-magazines. Keep your credit card ready and start reading your favorite magazine online.

The US Postal Service uses zipcodes as part of the addresses so that it can direct the mail to the appropriate person. The ZIP part of the word is an acronym for Zone Improvement Plan. The basic format of all zip codes consists of five numbers, In 1983 a ZIP + 4 format was introduced, which consists of the basic five numbers, a hyphen and then four more numbers.

The process of using zip codes for pieces of mail in the US started in 1943 when the US Post Office started using codes to identify large cities within states. This was the brainchild or a postal worker, Robert Moon, who submitted his proposal to the Postal service in 1941. A more general system was introduced in the early 1960′s and a zip cods for the entire country came into effect in 1963. Moon’s proposal was to use three digits to identify each sectional center facility in the country and this system is still in effect. The five digits consist of the number for the sectional facility and the postal code for the city in the state. For example the zip code for Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania is 16820. The numbers 168 refer to the sectional center facility and the numbers 20 refers to the postal code for Pennsylvania.

In 1963, zip cods were only used for first class mail and it wasn’t until 1967 that packages and second and third class mail were required to use them in the addresses. In the ZIP + 4, system now in use, the additional four digits are used to identify a geographic region. The code is transferred to a bar code which the sorting machinery used in the post offices can use to make sure the mail goes to the appropriate locality. For addresses with post office boxes, the add on digits refer to the post office box number. However, unlike the regular zip codes for cities, there is no uniform code for post office boxes. If you want to send mail to a particular address you would have to look up the full 12-digit zip code.

The first digit of the zip code represents a geographical area of the country, such as a group of states. Together with this digit and the next two, the mail goes to the appropriate facility where the mail is sorted once again. The fourth and fifth digits of the zip code refer to the addresses within a specific region. Usually the main city in a region receives the first zip code and then the surrounding towns and cities receive zip codes in alphabetical order following that initial zip code according to the name of the city or town.

Most of the lowest zip code numbers are in the New England states, since they all start with 0. Other postal codes beginning with 0 are the US Internal Revenue Service, Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and cities starting with A in this region. New York State has the initial digit of 1, so the zip codes of all addresses in New York start with 1.

Solo Entrepreneurs and Coaches are often stumped when it comes to marketing their business online. They want to build a relationship with prospects in the hopes that they eventually become regular customers. They also need a tool that requires little if any technical expertise, and is cheap, reliable and fast. One of the best ways to solve this problem is to build that relationship with the list by sending them a regular Ezine.

An ezine is a fancy term for an email newsletter. You are probably already receiving ezines in your inbox, some you read, and others you delete in a flash. It can be as simple as a Tip of the Week, or you can be more creative and create a special template with your picture and logo. Both techniques work well.

There are many reasons for a business or entrepreneur to send out a regular ezine, because it is a powerful, cheap and very effective tool to connect with customers/clients. An ezine can also help you to spread the word about your business, help your customers get to know you and sell your products/services.

The key to sending out a successful and well read ezine is to keep it Simple, Interesting and Informative. Your clients subscribe for a good reason, they want information that is useful and helpful in building their business. Make sure you send it out on a regular basis, every week, or every 2 weeks works well. The more you connect with your clients, the more they get to know, trust and like you, which means they are more likely to buy from you

Top 7 Reasons to publish a regular Ezine:

1. You need to be constantly building a herd (otherwise know as a list of potential customers). You cannot afford to stop going for new business. An ezine allows you to get to more people and encourages subscribers to Tell a friend, thereby expanding your network.

2. An ezine also helps you to promote and sell products, bootcamps, mentorships etc.

3. Publishing an ezine positions YOU as an EXPERT in your field

4. An ezine is a perfect way to stay in touch with your clients and prospects on a regular basis. Most people need to be touched at least seven times before they buy from you. An ezine allows you to reach that goal

5. Lets you spread the word about your business. If you write an interesting, informational ezine, people naturally pass it on to friends and colleagues, they do the hard work for you!

6. Ideal way to CAPTURE email addresses of your WEB visitors. Invite browsers to sign up for a FREE ezine, and hey presto you have a new lead.

7. Cheap and easy to publish, especially compared to a print newsletter. There are no postage or printing costs involved. You can even type it up wearing your pjs in bed!

Did you know on average, that you have to contact a prospect at least 7 times before they will buy from you? An ezine makes this relationship building easy for you.

There are plenty of great, affordable tools online to create professional looking ezines, so start writing to your list and build that lucrative relationship.

Blogging is one of the best ways to reach new clients and prospective customers as well as maintain your existing readers and clientele. Blogs provide continuously fresh content that attracts new readers on a regular basis and are often much easier to locate in search engines than traditional websites. There are many, many ways blogging can help you expand your business and build a loyal customer base. Today, I will share five of the most beneficial.

Blogging gives you an outlet to share useful information with potential and current customers.

Posting on a regular schedule of at least once a week and making a point of writing content that your audience will find interesting will help you create a loyal group of readers. You will quickly establish yourself as a trusted individual in your field and your client base will steadily grow along with your profits.

Blogging your thoughts, ideas, and other information relevant to your industry can benefit you as well as your readers.

The process of putting your plans into words is a wonderful way to empower your self to take action. Whether you are sharing a few motivational tips to encourage other marketers or writing a list of effective strategies, your words are much more powerful than your thoughts alone. Reading your own blog posts can do wonders for your business the same way they benefit others.

3: Blogging creates a network that will allow you to expand your business with little effort. Often referred to as the blogosphere, this community of writers works together to promote the content and information posted in various blogs. There are a number of ways other bloggers can help your business grow:

	I. Trading incoming links with blogs that complement the content you offer can send you new potential readers with an interest in your industry.

II. Blogging is interactive so it is easy to create a stir within your field that draws attention and brings new readers.

III. Commenting on related blogs with relevant, useful information can guide potential clients to your site as well.

#4: Blogging can help you define the right niche for your business. Concentrating your posts on one general topic that relates to your business can save you trouble and can help you expand your business faster by directing your efforts toward an already interested audience. Your readers obviously have an interest in your products and services if they have an interest in your posts. Your blog scouts potential clients for you and brings back those that are the most likely to become paying customers.

#5: Blogging makes it easy to reach many different niches for even more growth potential.

Many bloggers maintain more than one blog, focusing on different topics and issues with each one. This is a great way to target all the different types of individuals who would benefit from what your company has to offer with personal information that is truly relevant to them.

Blogging is a fun and effective marketing technique that can have all sorts of benefits for you and your company. You can hone your creative skills while attracting new, interested clients to your website. Keep your blog updated regularly and watch your business grow.

One Internet Marketing wise saying is, the money is in the list. This reason is important in growing your list rapidly. In reality, your list building should be a never-ending business project, which is ongoing. Otherwise you may encounter a wearing away of your list by loosing subscribers. You can build your list in many different ways.

For instance blogging, pay per click advertising and article marketing are all good methods of building an effective marketing list. These methods are not included in this article, however. Rather this article revolves around inexpensively using eBay as the resource to tap into while building your list. Ebay has an enormous potential for attracting traffic, with nearly 8 million visitors daily while supporting 200 million registered users, by using eBay to grow your list you will be able to attract those who are interested in joining your list.

Ebay offers two different methods in which to grow your list. With the first you create and sell ebooks or small reports in the buy it now auction format. You can set a minimum price and sell multiple items at $.99 each; therefore, you are essentially giving away these particular ebooks and small reports, which provide useful information to your buyers. While creating these small reports or ebooks be sure to display links to your squeeze page of your list. When creating these reports, remember they should be informative, yet leave the reader wanting more. If done in a pleasing manner, they will sign up for your list.

When writing your small reports or ebooks, be sure to mention that the buyer can give away these documents however, they cannot alter them in any way, and this may result in more signups in the end. Remember, you are not really trying to make a great deal of money with these reports; rather you are growing your marketing list.

Since the insertion and selling fees on eBay are relatively low, this can be a very cost effective way to get sign ups to your list and if you sell enough reports or ebooks, you may turn a small profit while simultaneously growing your list. You can also use the classified ad format on eBay. Many who use eBay; often overlook this type of ad format; however, it is quite simple and economically sound when growing your list.

The set up for a classified ad is set up much like a standard auction. An ad will run for thirty days rather than three, seven and ten days. Of course, the title is subject to the search engine of eBay as are all their auctions. It is essential to optimize your ad title. HTML is welcome here, so you can paste the code for your squeeze page, which contains the opt-in subscriber form in your advertisement. A classified ad cares an insertion fee of $9.95 for 30 days.

You can choose a Pro Pack when offering your classified ad, it costs a bit more, but equals out to around a dollar a day in advertisement. Purchasing a 7 day, Pro Pack comes to around four dollars per day. Making use of the classified ad format is a wallet friendly method to use when growing your list. No doubt, there are other eBay features to use when growing a list, however, these methods are much more cost effective than buying leads or pay per click advertising, while bringing in a small profit, at least enough to cover any eBay fees you may encounter while using eBay as a tool to grow your list.

Discover Kevin Sinclair’s system for making profits regardless of whether anyone joins your network marketing business.

Writing international business articles for profit presents a different kind of challenge, no matter how many years of writing you have under your belt. Greater emphasis is placed on effective communication in international business articles that embrace all business matters from local market to international trade.

Moreover, writers face a whole new element that only comes with writing for cross-border trades that is, their articles must be flexible since not everyone speaks the same language.

The Rules

The same old rules in writing apply when you write international business articles:

* Be concise. Use short sentences as much as possible.
* Do not use long words. Instead, use shorter words that are easier to understand.
* One paragraph focuses on one idea. Short paragraphs are suggested if your international business articles are for online publishing.
* Maintain formality. Avoid slang, jargon, cliches, and other figures of speech.
* Be careful with your punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors.
* In line with conciseness, be specific. It is helpful to use concrete examples in order to illustrate a point.
* Provide a summary.
* Check your own writing.

Be Persuasive, Effect Positive Change

Every international business article has this goal in mind: to effect positive change. To achieve this, the writer must be able to persuade the recipient of the message with information that is focused and comprehensive. Thus, writing these types of articles requires that you must have a sound understanding of the subject matter and its impact on the reader.

Articles must be so written that their main ideas are communicated early and leave no doubt as to what action the reader must take after finishing it.

Understand the Reader, Personalize

In order to better reach the targeted readers with your articles, you need to understand them first. Personalization of articles will ensure that the information they contain are highly relevant to your target. Research, therefore, comes into play, to the extent that you know them well enough to be able to tailor your international business articles to meet their specific needs.

Anticipate reaction. Use tone and language that is appropriate to your reader.

Be Logical, Arrange Ideas

Professionalism in articles is a must. And the best way to achieve a certain level of professionalism in your write-ups is to arrange your ideas in the most logical way possible. Not only will logical arrangement project professionalism, it would also play an instrumental part in how well you achieve the objectives of the international business articles.

Arrange your articles in such a way that the main point can be easily obtained. Any additional content must logically follow this main idea. Ordering ideas by importance is an effective way of achieving logical arrangement.

Email Marketing Programs provide incredible opportunity to connect with clients and grow your business. But are you getting the most out of your email marketing program? Are you taking advantage of all its great features, or just doing the bare minimum to get your email campaign out?
Below, I’ve put together a few tips on how to make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck with:

1. Use Mailing List Signup Boxes to turn site visitors into mailing list subscribers

A good email marketing program will help you attract more mailing list subscribers by offering a free mailing list signup box for your website.
This box consists of a simple block of code, which, when pasted onto your website, allows visitors to sign up for your mailing list. When visitors type their email address, the box connects directly to your mailing list and adds that person.

2. Customize Your Welcome Autoresponder

Many email marketing programs automatically send a welcome message to subscribers when they add themselves to your list. This message is usually written in general terms, like “Hello, welcome to out mailing list.”
However, some programs allow you to customize this welcome message by adding your logo and customizing your text. Readers will feel more welcome if, instead of the general message, they read “Hola Marci.
Thanks for signing up for the Spanish Learning Club’s weekly newsletter.”

3. Send Stunning, Professional Emails with Custom Templates and Images

You have less than one second to grab your reader’s attention before they skip to the next message, so choose an email marketing program that allows you to create captivating emails. A great program will build you a custom template, and even match it to your website, so you have a seamless brand image in all your online activities. Many programs allow you to add your own images, and a few email marketing programs even allow you to edit them – resize them, rotate them, add a border, and more.

4. Take Advantage of Your Custom Subscription Centers

The best programs offer you a custom subscription center, where your subscribers can go to indicate their interests and update personal information. The subscription center is a personal webpage that connects to your mailing list and updates subscriber information on the fly. Some programs will even allow you to customize your subscription center with your company colors and logos, as well as custom interest groups that match your company’s offerings.

5. Don’t Struggle – Count on Customer Service for a Helping Hand

Any email marketing program is designed to be user-friendly and easy-to-use.
But sometimes, when something is new to us, we need a helping hand to make sense of everything. The worst thing you can do is waste tons of time trying to figure things out. A good program will offer fast, friendly and reliable customer service. So if you’re having a hard time, send a quick email to your customer service representative. If you’re using a great email marketing program, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quick response you’ll get. Some customer care representatives will even walk you through things on the phone, to make sure you’re on the right track.

There are many things to keep in mind when choosing an email marketing program, but sometimes it’s the extra perks that make the program (and your campaign results) go from good, to great, and even outstanding sometimes. Keep the above tips in mind when choosing an email marketing program, and you’ll be sure to get the best bang for your buck.

Part of any successful business is building a relationship with your network and any prospective clients. A newsletter can be a useful marketing tool for keeping in touch with them. Reminding them of who you are and what you do and an opportunity to provide added value, let them know about your services and offers.

1. Purpose. Firstly – What’s it’s purpose? Who is your audience? Are you planning to gain clients, grow your reputation or both?

2. Be authentic, be yourself – this will distinguish you from all the other 1000s of newsletters out there.

3. Jotting down ideas for potential topics. Start a notebook, open up a file for ideas as you come up with them or come across something you think might be useful.

4. Sign up to other people’s newsletters. Subscribe to people or businesses newsletters that you know or respect and see how they do it. They vary a great deal in content, quality, format and frequency. See what you like and dislike, what would work for you?

5. Think of a key topic and start writing. Start with whatever comes to mind. Maybe leave it a day or so then do some more. Work on it until you’re reasonably happy but don’t expect perfection. It’s going to evolve and change over time as your business grows so the important thing is to get it out there!

6. Set yourself a deadline. Stick to it and then get it posted. Decide on a frequency and plan time to write it on a weekly/monthly basis or whatever frequency you feel comfortable with. Twice a month seems to be the recommended frequency for keeping you fresh in people’s minds but might seem too much. A longer newsletter once a month or quarterly may be better for your type of business and your potential audience.

7. Format and layout. Although I cut and paste mine from Word some email browsers convert it to text, which can mess up the formatting so keep it simple. Avoid tables, columns and large images. Formatting and automation becomes more important as your distribution list grows. Once you’re happy with the layout create a template that you can re-use each time.

8. Avoiding the spam filters. Filters look for certain words within the email title and content and filter out suspect emails as spam. Some subscribers may not even realise that your email isn’t reaching them. Lots of images and different fonts styles and sizes will also affect filters. Keep it simple. Use a utility like Spam Assassin to check the header and text of your newsletter to avoid it being filtered out by some ISPs spam filters.

9. Contact Information. Always include your contact information and your brief business message or tagline – what’s your niche, who are your clients? Provide a link to your website.

10. Subscribe/unsubscribe options. I’ve had people forward my newsletters so give new subscribers a way to contact you and get added for the next one. Confirm with new subscribers that you have added them. Known as double opt-in and available through some auto responders. Always give people the option to unsubscribe from your newsletter. This is a legal requirement in some countries and is good practice.

11. Your distribution. Now you’ve written it, who are you going to send it to? Use your current address book – friends, family, colleagues, people you’ve met networking. It’s grown as my contact database has grown. Capture people’s email addresses when they visit your website. If you make a new contact – send them your newsletter as an example of who you are and what you do and invite them to subscribe.

Important: Don’t include the address list in the To: field. Use the Bcc list instead. This stops your readers seeing everyone else’s email address and possibly getting into the hands of spammers!

12. Test. Send it to a couple of friends to test it out – they can give you feedback on it. Also send it to yourself if you have various email accounts with different providers to see that they get through the filters OK and any formatting comes across OK.

You can add auto responder services as you go and increase the frequency – apparently monthly is too little, some people recommend twice a month or even weekly. I receive some that are 2-3 times a week (too much in my opinion).

Additional tips:

Best day to send.

Business: Tuesday to Thursday. Monday people tend to be dealing with emails after the weekend. On Friday most people want to leave early and clear their desks at the end of the week so will tend to ignore less important emails.

Personal: People are more likely to read their emails on Friday to Sunday. However, people may also check personal emails when at home so it can be harder to target them specifically.

Best time to send.

Around lunchtime’s are best avoiding the morning rush of emails and the end of the day when people are less likely to read them before they leave the office.

The most important thing is to get started.

OK So you’ve decided it’s time to send an HTML newsletter to your email list but you’re not quite sure where to start? No Problem, we’ve all been there. I tried and tested many times before I created my first successful html newsletter.

Creating an HTML Newsletter is very similar to creating a webpage, with some minor twists on the old rules.

Now if you already know how to create a webpage then you won’t have any problems. But if you’re not sure, then you can always use a WYSIWYG – What You See Is What You Get HTML editors such as Microsoft Frontpage or Adobe Dreamweaver. Or you can skip all those steps and just download a newsletter template, and add your text.

The only real difference between a newsletter and a regular webpage is how it’s designed and how its sent.

Let’s Get Started.

1) Remove everything before the open (body) tag, and everything after the close (/body) tag. Then get rid of the body tags themselves. There should be (html) tag, (head) tag, (title) tag, (metatags), and no css stylesheets. The only remaining html code will be what you originally found BETWEEN your open (body) (/body) and close body tags – Tables, images, text, links etx.

2) No more javascripts – Email providers don’t allow javascript in their email and they will disable it. So if you have any javascript within your newsletter then get rid of it.

3) No Flash, No DHTML, No Web Forms – Most if not all of time they will not work so your newsletter will be better off if you don’t include them.

4) No more ads – Actually you can have ads, but just not the popular Google Adsense Ads. Google’s Adsense uses javascript and javascript won’t work in the newsletter. You can however find link exchanges, or other advertisers that use plain links for their ads, and include those in your newsletter. These ads, banners, and text links will work just fine.

5) No More CSS – Often designers will use CSS for a webpage’s layout, but in the case of an html newsletter it would be better to use tables, instead of writing lines and lines of inline css code. You can set padding, background color, and lots of other table properties, just as you can with CSS. Remember keep it simple.

6) If you must use CSS then get inline – Since you can’t import style sheets to style and format your html content you will need to use inline CSS which includes all of the css properties in line. EX: style=”background: white; color: black;”

7) Images – When adding images on a webpage we would normally use urls such as image1.jpg, but with a newsletter you’ll have to enter the complete or the absolute url.

Tip: Make sure to set your images’ border to 0 so that it will show up seamlessly inside your newsletter.

The first link in the email should be a link to the online version of your html newsletter. Even if you have option for html or text newsletter, it’s a good idea to include a link to your online version at the top of the newsletter.

9) Include an unsubscribe / remove me link at the end of your email, and text for compliance with canspam laws. If you don’t have an unsubscribe button then your newsletter could be seen as spam and you don’t want your subscribers thinking they have no way to unsubscribe. If you have more then one newsletter then include a link such as Manage my subscription or a link that takes them directly to their online account. Placing this link will allow your users access to their account and allow them to manage their subscriptions. Who knows maybe they’ll subscribe to more newsletters.

10) Test, test, and retest on major email providers (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail). You may notice that with that the new MSN Windows Live Mail Beta the text in your newsletters will be centered. Don’t rely on defaults to left align your text, use the left align button on your editor to align them when needed.

During my previous newsletter tests some of the special characters in my newsletter rendered oddly in Yahoo, so make sure to find the character codes for those special characters, and then paste them directly into your html.

For ex: this ‘ apostrophe will turn into ' This will allow the text to display properly. For more character codes scroll all the way down or google “Special Character Codes”

11) Before you send your email make sure to set the email’s content-type as HTML, so that it can display as an Html newsletter, or it will just show up as plain HTML code.

12) Get Online – Before you get started make sure to upload those pictures and your original HTML newsletter to your hosting account so that your subscribers can visit your newsletter online.

That’s it. Happy HTML emailing!

I hope the title grabbed your attention. This is a true story, but to get the sceptics from clicking off or deleting this article, I will start with some provable facts that you can verify at the click of the mouse.
The website I own with my wife is called amlaspain. It is a Spanish property portal website for real estate agents in Spain. The launch date is stated on the homepage. As our first website experiment we had planned the marketing angles, designs etc for about a year leading up to the launch, but it was only when we were ready to go with a viable database that I had time to turn my attention to SEO, (Search Engine Optimization)…that’s for the beginners who like me back then, had to find out what it meant!
The Diary comes in twelve parts. A week by week, blow by blow account if you will, of how I delved through the articles on SEO, the differing viewpoints, the pitfalls and tricks of unscrupulous webmasters who try to trick you into providing them with a one-way link to THEIR website, whilst your link back floats around in ‘no cache’ land. This is the story of how we achieved a PR5 in 12 weeks. Hopefully our insight will help you do the same.

Week 1

In The Beginning…there was a website.
I suppose I am skipping a large portion of this tale for the dramatic effect of a 12 week route to PR5. As mentioned, we had spent nearly a year with our designers molding the website into the product it became. This process, need not take as long as we took, still has a part to play in the overall scheme of things. If your website isn’t designed properly for the search engines to crawl, then my tale would have ended in woe, like so many others. Making sure your designer is SEO savvy and not just a creator of ‘technology blonde’ websites is important because it means that you don’t have to worry about the way your pages are coded and one less worry for someone beginning in this business is most definitely a benefit. (Forgive the sexist quip ‘technology blonde website’. It arose from a study of Spanish realtor’s websites. In a large number of cases these sites proved to be ‘pretty to look at’, ‘expensive to run’ but didn’t contribute!-Unfortunately my sense of humor got the better of me and the phrase was born.)

So we start with a website. I will comment further on content and search Engine philosophy as we go but as we entered week 1 these thoughts hadn’t even entered the ‘gleam in the eye’ stage.
Week 1 was a case of using the net and searching for answers. Blogs, articles, anything I could find regarding SEO and more importantly Google SEO.
Oh no I hear you cry, not another googlite..

Well, love or hate them, it doesn’t really matter. The fact is that if you are attempting to make money from a website business, then 60% + of your potential client base is searching for your product or service on Google. Don’t by any means forget the rest, just concentrate on Google. Crack Google and the rest will fall into place. Well, this whole article is about cracking Google to get to a PR5, so if you have read this far I can assume you already agree with me!
So what did I actually achieve that first week.
Well I did three things that you really need to get out of the way early. I submitted my site to the major search engines and whilst doing so came across the Yahoo Directory. Its importance at the time didn’t register but it was a free submission so I did it anyway. It was later I would discover, although some will argue the point with you, that along with a submission to The Open Directory dmoz.org (also important) that these two submission are highly important on the road to your PR5.
Probably because they are manually edited directories, they take up to 12 weeks and more for your website to be added. So get it in early.
If you can afford it, Yahoo Directory will speed up the process to a week. The cost is 299 dollars.
I have to say I got impatient and in week 3 paid for the submission. Whether this was a factor in the eventual PR rank we achieved I will leave to you to decide.

Next week…

Spanish property or 3 bed villa in benidorm? Keywords and content.

Neil Ebsworth is co-founder of AMLAspain.com, a Spanish property MLSportal for the Real Estate industry in Spain.
