How to Make Money With CPA (Cost-Per-Action) Networks

October 27, 2009 · Filed Under Affiliate Programs · Comment

Cost-per-action (CPA) marketing is a type of affiliate marketing which pays affiliates for every lead that completes a certain required action such as submitting an email address or zip code. Traditional affiliate marketing requires effort to persuade a visitor to buy a product you’re promoting to earn you a commission, but it can be a lot easier to earn with CPA marketing because you won’t need to sell anything. Companies that engage in CPA marketing often pay hefty sums, $20-$50 or more per lead, in return for sending a visitor who submits their information to the company. These companies can afford to pay such generous commissions in return for a lead who tries out a free offer because their marketing funnel is so profitable.

The first step towards making money with CPA networks is to get accepted by them. CPA networks do not work like Clickbank where all that is required to promote a product is an account. CPA networks are always on the lookout for skilled marketers who intend on following through with their campaigns, not deadbeat affiliates. Since most applications will look average, most will be rejected. If your application gets rejected, don’t worry. Account managers have nothing personal against applicants, but they do get swamped with applications. If you do not have a track record with CPA, then you won’t stand out from the crowd and will probably get rejected. The best thing to do in this case would be to personally contact the account manager and tell them how serious you are about following through. Chances are, you’ll be approved because they’ll recognize that you’re serious from the fact that you made the effort to call.

Once you’re approved by a network, you’ll need to pick an offer to promote. Some offers convert better and others pay more per lead. Once you’ve picked a good offer, then traffic generation is the last piece of the puzzle that you’ll need in order to start making money with CPA. If you want to test the profitability of an offer, try running some pay-per-click ads for it. PPC is good because the traffic comes very soon after you create your campaign. It is also good because you can set a low budget and a short timeframe for the ad to run so you can get a sampling of the market.

In addition to driving paid traffic, you can also drive free traffic via a blog, articles, and search engine optimization. CPA is all about arbitrage: just how much are you willing to pay to get a payout? Doing PPC advertising can be a mistake is you don’t know how to do it. If you choose to run PPC ads to point to your CPA offers, then make sure you constantly test and tweak your campaigns so that you can consistently keep your cost-per-click low and therefore have a larger profit margin.

CPA marketing is much more lucrative than traditional affiliate marketing is done correctly. Once you are able to drive consistent traffic to your website and keep your costs of acquiring that traffic down, then you will not only make a lot of money, but you’ll have the necessary knowledge and experience to duplicate your efforts and easily scale your business.

How to Run an Teleseminar for Optimal Success

October 27, 2009 · Filed Under Internet Marketing · Comment

Teleseminars can be extremely beneficial to your online business because they give you a new way to reach new prospects as well as a new way to interact with your existing clients. In the Internet marketing industry, people are used to being marketed to via more traditional means such as email marketing or paid ad listings. By hosting a teleseminar, you introduce a touch of personality to your marketing. Regardless of whether you’re trying to generate leads, generate sales, or trying to create a product, hosting a teleseminar will make you stand out as an expert in your field.

Unless you are a brilliant speaker, it would probably be the wiser choice to interview an expert or to co-host your teleseminar with a fellow marketer. Before you do your call, you’ll need to plan it out beforehand with whomever you’ll be talking with. Work out the basic outline as to what questions will be asked, who will be talking for how long, what topics to cover, and so on.

Chemistry between the speakers really goes a long way towards making the teleseminar easier to follow and more interesting as well. For example, if two marketers who were also close friends hosted a teleseminar, they would find it very easy to keep the flow of the call going because there would be some impromptu dialogue. On the other hand, hosting a teleseminar with someone you’ve never spoken to on the phone before could get awkward or boring for your listeners. Nothing would be worse than a few seconds of complete silence on your teleseminar; a few seconds of silence during a teleseminar can seem like an eternity to all parties involved and will not reflect well upon you as the organizer.

Another thing that you need to make sure you do is to check all your equipment prior to the call. If you are recording the call for your own use or for distribution, then you’ll want to make sure that the proverbial red light is on, or else you’ll have to redo the call. Make sure to also check your telephone or microphone for any problems. To ensure that your call goes smoothly, you’ll want the sound to be as clear as possible and free of any echoes or distortions.

One of the goals that you should have when running a teleseminar is to get your listeners interested and make them stay interested throughout the call. The best way to do this, aside from offering high quality content on the call, is to keep them engaged by having them ask questions. Not only do people feel special when their names and questions are called out live on a call, they also get the benefit of hearing the answers to their questions right away. Another way to keep your listeners interested is to have a special bonus or deal at the end of the call as a reward for staying on the line. If you interview an expert, an example of a good bonus to offer the listeners would be a discount for one of the expert’s products.

The Social Aspect of Social Media

October 27, 2009 · Filed Under Internet Marketing · Comment

Many people nowadays use social media incorrectly when it comes to marketing. Obviously sites like Facebook or my space are pure gold if you want to sell things on them, but you have to be very careful and cautious when it comes to the intensity of your promotional efforts and the way you do it.

Those sites are made for people to connect and interact and not for marketers to use them as sales tools. We will talk about a couple aspects of social media and marketing in this article.

Don’t abuse it.

It is a surely important for people that use social media to feel that they get exactly what they come for. Just think about yourself for a minute.

When you go on You Tube, you are not planning on watching commercials, unless you’re a marketer, right?

Instead you want to watch something that will entertain or educate you, or maybe something that your friends have made and put up for people to watch.

If you go on MySpace you don’t expect one of your friends to suddenly start selling you something, just like you wouldn’t expect that to happen in the real world.

Whatever your marketing efforts make sure that you don’t overdo it and never market too hard.

This kind of brings us to our next point which is looking at a social media website as if it was not a site with a whole bunch of strangers, but a place where your friends hang out.

Would you like your friend to suddenly try to involve you in something you wouldn’t want to be involved in such as a membership site or an online course?

If you wouldn’t and you told them so, how would you expect them to react? Would you want them to keep pushing you and try using other techniques to get you to buy? Or would you want them to accept your decision and just leave you alone and never bring up the topic again?

What I am trying to convey here is that if you should treat a social media website like you would treat your friend, you will be much better off when you do your marketing.

Social media marketing is a great thing and you should definitely use it, but do so with caution and care because it will turn its back on you if you don’t.

Remember that just like in the real world, people on social media sites like controversy and if you are able to create something funny or contrversial, people will talk about it naturally, without your participation, and when that happens you’re going to start seeing some serious benefits coming at you.

Is Adsense Still a Viable Money Making Channel?

October 27, 2009 · Filed Under Adsense · Comment

Back in early 2006, it was easy to make a lot of money with Adsense. All you had to do was to create a site, throw any old content on it, and of course, scatter Adsense ads all over your page. Later that year, Google implemented changes to its algorithm which affected both Adwords and Adsense advertisers. The changes, which were put in place to enforce a level of quality on the content in Google, caused some chaos in the Internet marketing industry where many people were losing a huge stream of income. Hence, the cries that Adsense was dead.

It is a common misconception that one can simply put up a website nowadays and earn any significant income with Adsense. It is still quite possible to make a lot of money with Adsense, but first, here are a couple criteria that an Adsense site has to meet before it can become profitable:

* There must be high quality and unique content on your site. Not only does Google frown upon rehashed content, your human visitors will end up leaving your site in a hurry and will therefore not have the time to click on your Adsense ads.
* There must be high quality and targeted traffic to your site. To get targeted traffic to your site, you must properly optimize your site for your desired keywords and you must also use only legitimate traffic sources. Doing SEO and running relevant PPC ads are two of the best ways of getting a high quantity of high quality traffic. Do not expect to make money by purchasing so-called “guaranteed visitors” from traffic brokers.

A factor which may affect your site’s earnings with Adsense is its keywords. To understand this point, you must first understand that Adsense ads are the same as Adwords ads except they are visible in the content network instead of the search network. There is no set amount that a clicked ad for a certain keyword pays out. This depends on how much the advertiser is paying per click and also on the quality and ranking of your site. Essentially, the higher the advertiser is paying per click for a certain keyword, the higher the payout is to you if someone clicks on their ad through your site.

Adsense is most certainly not dead. Those who claim this are those who have not made the necessary adjustments to the changes that Google made back in 2006. To summarize, there are three things that you should have in order to make money with Adsense: high quality content, targeted traffic, and the right keywords.

If you have good content, your visitors will appreciate it and possibly return often. The search engines can also tell when you have good content and will reward you for having it by boosting your site’s rankings. Make sure you choose the right keywords such that you’ll be targeting a niche which is searched for, but also targeting keywords which you can realistically get a lot of traffic from instead of butting heads with the best for competitive keywords.

As long as you follow these guidelines, you’ll find that Adsense is still very much alive and can be very profitable for you.

How to Make Money and Network Using WarriorForum

October 26, 2009 · Filed Under Forums · Comment

Forum marketing is still an effective way of getting traffic and the best forum in the Internet marketing community is the Warrior Forum. It isn’t the largest forum in the Internet marketing world, but it is the best because of the professional atmosphere that is maintained there. The professional atmosphere is kept alive by the strong sense of community that exists there, where most of the members are always bouncing ideas off of each other and supporting each other when personal or financial problems arise.

A unique feature of the Warrior Forum is its Warrior Special Offer subforum, where established members with over thirty posts are allowed to sell products or services to other members. The two main conditions of these WSO’s as they are called are that they must be proprietary products or services and that their prices for Warriors must be exclusively discounted. A handful of savvy marketers have been able to take advantage of this forum and generate mid-to-high 5 figure incomes by selling their products and services on it.

During the peak hours of the day, the general discussion section of the forum is very busy and new threads that are posted there at these times are usually responded to within minutes. There are always opportunities for you to chime in to ask a question, post a comment, or answer a question. Members of this forum frown upon short posts that don’t contribute in any way such as “nice post”. However, if you make a genuine effort to contribute to the community, you’ll eventually start to make a name for yourself.

It is very easy to spot trends just by visiting the general discussion section of the forum. For example, two of the hottest trends in this forum during early 2009 were offline gold and Twitter marketing. There are three secrets to creating a wildly successful business on the Warrior Forum. The first option is to recognize these trends and establish yourself as an expert in one of these areas. Alternatively, establishing yourself as an expert in any field, whether you’re offering a product or service, will make you very popular amongst forum members. The last secret to success is to provide a service that everybody needs and to do it exceptionally well. Services that are always high in demand are content creation, link building, and graphic design.

The Warrior Forum is a tight knit community where people are always trying to answer your questions and giving you valuable advice. By becoming one of the people who answer the questions and give the advice, you’ll be positioning yourself as an expert. Warriors who realize this will often mention you in their posts if you are able to solve a problem that a member has. You’ll find that as you establish yourself on the forum, more and more people will get to know you. If people are impressed with you, then they will reward you by starting a viral campaign within the forum and possibly outside the forum as well telling others how valuable your product or service is and how it can help others.
